The Science Summit during UNGA81 brings together leaders from governments, United Nations agencies, academia, industry, development banks, philanthropy and civil society to explore how science and innovation can accelerate sustainable development.
The New York programme combines plenary discussions, parallel thematic sessions and high-level networking opportunities covering food security, artificial intelligence, global health, climate action, science diplomacy and sustainable finance.

New York Programme
The Science Summit NYC programme, taking place in New York from 21–25 September alongside the United Nations General Assembly, will bring together leaders from science, policy, industry and civil society to shape the global science agenda. The programme will focus on the post-SDG agenda, Financing for Development and philanthropy, exploring how science, investment and new partnerships can drive solutions to global challenges and shape the future of sustainable development.
Nairobi Programme
The Science Summit Nairobi programme, taking place in Nairobi from 28–30 September, will place African science and scientific leadership at the heart of the global agenda. Bringing together African ministers, EU policymakers, leaders and representatives from across the Global South, the Summit will position Africa as a source of knowledge, innovation and solutions to global challenges, and as a key partner in shaping the future of science, policy and sustainable development worldwide.
