Presentation

The Science Summit 2025 Action Declaration: Mobilising Science, Diplomacy, and Partnerships to Accelerate Action for the SDGs presents the key messages, outcomes, and collaborative priorities emerging from Science Summit NYC 2025, convened alongside the 80th United Nations General Assembly.

The document reflects the Summit’s central message: that science is essential to addressing today’s most urgent global challenges and accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals. Across health, food security, climate resilience, digital transformation, space science, gender equality, youth leadership, and science financing, the Summit demonstrated how scientific knowledge, international cooperation, and cross-sector partnerships can support practical solutions and long-term sustainable development.

Bringing together researchers, policymakers, governments, international organisations, civil society, philanthropy, industry, and youth representatives from around the world, Science Summit NYC 2025 served as a platform for dialogue, partnership-building, and action. This Action Declaration captures the shared ambition to move from discussion to implementation by strengthening scientific ecosystems, supporting evidence-informed decision-making, mobilising resources, and building inclusive collaborations across regions and sectors.

The Declaration also looks ahead to Science Summit NYC 2026 and UNGA81, providing a basis for continued engagement, follow-up actions, working groups, and partnerships that place science at the service of people, planet, and shared prosperity.
