2026 Theme: Resilience in Action: Science, Policy and Finance for Global Sustainability

Building on the 2025 focus on planetary boundaries, the 2026 Science Summit will spotlight the urgent need to translate scientific knowledge into concrete action that strengthens resilience at global, regional, and local levels. As climate shocks, health crises, and geopolitical disruptions intensify, resilience can no longer be treated as a long-term aspiration — it must become an immediate priority embedded in governance, finance, and innovation systems.

A central focus will be the role of community centers and local institutions as the true front-line actors and responders. Whether in health, food systems, disaster preparedness, or digital inclusion, it is these community-level hubs that ensure science-driven solutions reach people where they live and work. They translate global commitments into tangible action, build trust, and provide the first layer of response when crises strike.

In this spirit, the Summit will actively seek projects that demonstrate a tangible impact on achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Such initiatives will be showcased as model case studies for the scientific community, highlighting how science can be applied in real-world contexts and offering best practices that can be adapted and scaled globally.

By aligning policy frameworks and financial instruments with the leadership of front-line institutions, and by elevating concrete examples of impact, the Summit will demonstrate how resilience can become a measurable outcome for both people and planet.

We welcome session proposals that emphasize collaborative research projects involving a minimum of three organizations.
